Defender Series: Wall Mounted HWD- 45 Horizontal Dehumidifier
Introducing the Innovative HWD-45 Horizontal Wall Dehumidifier. This dehumidifier has been designed to achieve what other units can’t. Its horizontal configuration allows for installations above door frames, above cabinetry, and other locations where wall space is at a premium.
Don’t let its stylish looks fool you! It is also ideal for installation in crawl spaces where head room for gravity drains are at a premium. As building construction is tightened to increase energy efficiency in living spaces, moisture generated from everyday living is trapped inside. Indoor moisture leads to poor Indoor Air Quality, mold growth, structural damage, health issues, potential litigation.
The HWD-45 works independent from the structures HVAC system. It is mounted on the wall with the condensate drain connected to a building drain. No need to empty condensate buckets. Tamper proof controls are accessible by the installer/property manager only. Optional Wi-Fi controls are also available.
This dehumidifier is the perfect insurance against humidity for owners/managers of residential housing including apartments, condominiums, student housing, hotel, hospitality, military housing and more.
How It Works
Our Defender Series dehumidifiers remove excess moisture from indoor air providing a Controlled Humidity Environment (CHE) for our Defense Partners. CHE is required to prevent poor IAQ, mold growth, health issues, and protect assets and equipment from moisture damage. In the simplest terms, when the humidity level exceeds the set point of the humidity controller, the dehumidifier will energize. The internal fan and compressor will turn on, forcing air to be drawn across the evaporator coil, which is cooler than the dew point of the air, allowing the coil to remove water from the air and exit via the drain. The air is then reheated as it flows across the condenser coil and distributed back into the air.
Installation
The Horizontal (HWD-45) Wall Mounted dehumidifiers are simple to install and work independently from the building’s HVAC system. Connecting the provided hose to a drain allows the dehumidifier to remove water from the air without interruption until the desired relative humidity level is achieved in the room. Tamper proof controls are accessible by the installer or facilities manager only.
